Let me introduce you the Export-import insurance company of the Republicof Belarus– Eximgarant - which was founded by the Council of Ministers of the Republicof Belarus.

Eximgarant was established by the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 752 dated May 23, 2001 on certain issues of improvement of foreign economic activity insurance through transfer of the Belarusian state organization involved in insurance of risks related to foreign economic activities (Belgosvneshstrakh) – the main state insurance company “Belgosstrakh” subsidiary – under the control of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

Our Company’s philosophy lies, first of all, in understanding and pursuing the interests of the State, striving for establishment of a well-organized and controlled insurance system in the Republic, which system could serve as a catalyst of sustainable development of the Belarusian economy. We are in a constant creative quest; we introduce new insurance products and, at the same time, strictly comply with the ethic standards in the insurance market.

Being based on high-capacity material resources and the State support, Eximgarant always fulfils its obligations perfectly. We guarantee insurance cover for our customers and offer insurance services in more than 35 kinds of insurance provided both for corporate customers and natural persons.

Our progress is the result of both regular efforts of our employees and customer’s confidence. We will do our best to justify such confidence to the benefit of the Belarusian insurance market and financial stability of our Insureds and Partners.

Creation and ensuring efficient functioning of such national foreign trade operations and export credit insurance system was set as the principal strategic objective of Eximgarant activity.

Much has been done by the Company in this field; still more is to be done.

One of the first steps for creating the national foreign trade operations and export credit insurance system was the adoption of joint Ordinance of the Ministry of Finance, Within preparation for establishing such national foreign trade operations and export credit insurance system, we actively studied international experience of functioning of similar systems, developing cooperation to export credit agencies - members of the International Union of Export Credit and Investment Insurers (the Berne Union) and participating in meetings of the Prague Club - structural division of the Berne Union for export credit agencies of the Central and the Eastern Europe.

All that enabled Eximgarant to proceed to direct export credits insurance operations and, following the conclusion of the first export credit insurance agreementin May, 2002 to become a full member of the PragueClub.In that way certain basis for functioning of the national export credit insurance system was laid. However, practice showed that the export credit system existing in the Republic was far from foreign analogues. A number of unsolved problems required for further system improvement.

In accordance with the Decree of the President №534 on 25.08.2006 "On insurance and financing the export with state support" Eximgarant was authorised to provide export credit risk insurance with state support as the official export credit agency of the Republic of Belarus. The main objective of Eximgarant is to promote the export of Belarusian goods and services in order to increase competitiveness of domestic products and to support mutual economic exchange of the Republic of Belarus with other countries.

The export – import bank of the Republic of Belarus was founded in July 2007 on the base of BPS–Bank. The Bank’s mission is to provide financing of the state programs in the international markets, to assist domestic companies in expanding external trade by providing loans and credits, to engage the overseas investments.
